We were tested with the recent 🔥. We had 40 minutes to leave our home. We were evacuated for 9 days and our home was in serious danger. We are blessed to have a motorhome that we could retreat to and with. I continued to work via Telehealth every day. It was not easy, but we ALL made it work. Whenever I’ve had hardship in my life, I’ve found it easier to serve than to asked to be served. It is in serving as a physician that I forget about my own struggles. In bringing peace and health to my patients, I find peace and joy myself.
This is a moment of fresh air with my family during a long day. We were all glad to be home safe this week, but we never lost sight of our mission to serve the sick. After all, they needed us and Gods work never ends.
“Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.” Jeremiah 33:6

God is great and I am grateful for everyday for our home...planet Earth. Standing on top of a volcano is one way to remember how small we are and how magnificent this planet is. As Catholics, I pray we always remember to take care of it, respect it and cherish. This Earth is NOT ours for exploitation and personal gain, but a gift on loan from the most high. God Bless!

This Sunday we heard how Jesus called the disciples to action. Our lives shouldn’t be defined by passive expectation of eternal life through faith alone, but rather through diligent dedication to how Jesus tells us to live. If this science about lifestyle were known then, what would Jesus have said?
Our lifestyles are killing us prematurely! Many will point figures at someone else’s lifestyle. Many claim to have a healthy lifestyle. Yet, many of us will die from preventable causes. There will be 900,000 + premature deaths this year in the US alone. What would Jesus say?
I think he would tell us that our lifestyles, what we eat, how we move, the toxins we consume, how we stress, and our lack of spiritual connections are pulling us away from God. We have been given the gift of life through our bodies. How do we show our gratitude for this gift? This statistic from the American of Lifestyle Medicine would suggests very poorly.
Isn’t it time for a change? Isn’t time to ask a doctor if you are living healthfully? Isn’t it time for the humility to learn how to live healthier? Come visit me at CatholicWell.com. I can help. Happy Lifestyle Medicine week!
Lord, I pray that we all can find humility in asking how we can live a life that shows God how thankful we are for our bodies and minds. Amen
