The heart behind SmartMov has always been simple: I want to help people make smarter moves with their money. While the app is still in the works (and taking a bit longer than I hoped), the mission hasn’t changed.

In the meantime, I’m offering something more personal: financial coaching.

I just learned that State Farm insurance has had their credit rating downgraded. What that means to those with policies, expect increases in your premiums plus the added concern that their balance sheet strength is considered "weak." Fun fact: if you are an educator, nurse, have a bachelor's of science, ask for a discount with Farmer's Insurance. I'm not doing business with them, but as my annual insurance check-up I have added them to the companies that I'm asking for a quote on. I was also pleasantly surprised that their Auto Insurance deductibles are as high as $2500 for those that like to self-insure.
