Life is hard in rural Uganda. Very hard. The scourges of HIV AIDS, malaria, TB, malnutrition all contribute to death and hopelessness. Children without food and sometimes without any place to sleep will only have a future through education. BCP has found good schools in which a sponsored child will thrive and grow strong. From primary education through secondary, vocational and even, in some cases

Ready to tackle the world! These fresh faces of the BCP-sponsored S1 students met to share a moment and a few laughs. The overalls are their apparel for the vocational class each has chosen. They have one vocational class along with their academics.

New campus, new challenges, time to manage in order to get it all done - having friends in the same situation really does help. And, a good laugh is wonderful!

We are so proud of the entrepreneur who is now starting a metal-working business. To successfully run a business is a terrific use of his sponsored education. Mubaraka has trained mechanics in his original business, which is still operating and going strong. Now a new venture into metal working will be giving another type of boost to local youth, employing them in a new trade.
He is a very bright businessman who passes his skills along to the young men in the village who have not had an opportunity to attend vocational school. Kudos to his wonderfully generous nature!

Happy New Year! Thank You! To all the sponsors who have made a huge impact on students' lives in 2022 and the past 13 years, we say "you are terrific". The pictured graduates, who have reached their goals and will enter their field of expertise in 2023, range from an Art Teacher, to Midwives, to an Accountant with a Finance Degree and a Nurse with her Diploma. These grateful young men and women will be productive members of society because sponsors cared and nurtured them along the way. They are only four of eleven students who graduated in December. We are so proud of all of them! It is indeed a Happy New Year.

Aderah has made us proud once again! While waiting for her official documents for her Diploma in Nursing from Mengo Hospital School of Nursing, she has taken a course in Gerontology from the Harvey Institute. Insight into the unique problems among the older population will make her even more desirable as an employee! Shown here as she graduates, that smile says it all!
