đ§ Mindful Moment of the Day: The Policy Change Grounding đ§
A sudden policy change can make a stable routine feel uncertain overnight. Whether itâs new return-to-office rules, shifting telework expectations, new reporting lines, or updated approval proceduresâchanges often roll out before anyone fully understands the details.
When you feel that familiar spike of frustration or anxiety, try this quick grounding practice:
1ď¸âŁ Pause & Name It: Acknowledge the feeling without judgment. Tell yourself, âThis is a change, and change is hard on the body.â
2ď¸âŁ Filter the Noise: Identify what is currently known, what is unknown, and what can wait. Keep this list short.
Remember: Mindfulness doesnât mean you have to like the change, and it doesnât mean pretending everything is easy. Itâs simply a tool to help you stay anchored and oriented while the workplace catches up to the new information.
Take a deep breath. You've navigated shifts before, and you can handle this one, too. đ¤

AFGEâs 2026 Affordability Survey, involving over 1,600 union members nationwide, highlights the affordability challenges faced by federal workers and their families.
AFGE National President Everett Kelley emphasized the importance of policymakers understanding the financial realities of federal employees, citing the surveyâs results as evidence of the need for stronger pay protections and cost-of-living adjustments to ensure their continued support.
