IRS Sets January 26 Start For 2026 Tax Filing Season As Tax Law Changes Take Effect IRS has announced that the 2026 filing season will begin January 26, when tax law changes enacted in 2025, including no tax on tips and no tax on overtime, take effect.

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is excited to announce the official start of the 2026 tax filing season on Monday, January 26.
