UPDATE 11/13 at 3:54 pm: The boil water notice has been lifted.

The City of Forney has issued a boil water notice for residents in the neighborhoods of Overland Grove, Grayhawk, and Dalview Estates, as well as Johnson Elementary due to a temporary loss in water pressure experienced Monday evening. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires that all water distributed from our public water systems must be treated, disinfected, and tested to meet standards to protect public health.

To ensure the safety of all, it is recommended that all water for consumption, including drinking, cooking, and making ice, should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes. Alternatively, bottled water may be used. Adults can continue to shower as long as no water is swallowed. Children or infants should have sponge baths with water that has been boiled. Out of an abundance of caution, Johnson Elementary will be providing bottled water for all of the students and their cafeteria staff will adapt to ensure lunch service will continue as planned in a safe and healthy way.

The City of Forney is diligently flushing water mains and collecting water samples to ensure water quality and safety. Each household will receive one case of bottled water, available for pick-up at the amenity center in each subdivision. We anticipate clear sample results by Wednesday, November 13, 2024, and will provide updates as soon as they are available.

US 80 DETOURS AT FM 460/CLEMENTS DR AUG. 19 & 20

Weather permitting, the follow closures are scheduled as part of the ongoing construction project -

All lanes of westbound US 80 will be closed at FM 460/Clements Drive from 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 19 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 20. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage road.
All lanes of eastbound US 80 will be closed at FM 460/Clements Drive from 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 20 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 21. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage road.

Early voting for Forney Mayor and City Council, and Forney ISD Trustees, starts Monday Apr. 24 and runs through May 02.

NTMWD Thanks the Public for Efforts to Reduce Outdoor Water Use and Continues Call for Conservation Amid Persistent Drought.

WYLIE, TX – July 27, 2022: The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) thanks the public and its Member Cities and Customers for conserving water while critical maintenance was completed last week at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex which allowed the facility to resume normal operation. Widespread action to reduce water use, especially outdoors, preserved water resources until all work was finished. Although the maintenance activities were completed, aggressive water conservation is still needed as drought conditions and rising demands for water persist. Residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to follow their local water provider’s conservation guidance to reduce outdoor water use. During the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex maintenance, NTMWD always met or exceeded all state and federal drinking water quality standards. Through the success of public efforts to reduce outdoor watering, NTMWD continued to meet demands while treatment capacity was temporarily reduced.
