In the past 10 years, more people died from su***de in the United States than from car accidents. The rate of su***de for people between the ages of 35 and 65 has jumped almost 30 percent.

Yesterday, the AFSP attended the National Conference on Mental Health, hosted by President Obama and Vice President Biden, to kick off a national conversation about mental health in the United States. The administration has launched a new website -- www.mentalhealth.gov -- aimed at providing resources for those suffering from mental illness and sharing success stories from those who've received treatment.
