Hi all, made this video to answer a common question I get from patients who have cavities, especially when their brother or sister does not. Some people who don't brush and floss don't get cavities because they are lucky enough not to have the bacteria that cause cavities such as streptococcus mutans. They may also have cavity inhibiting bacteria and have positive factors such as strong enamel and lack deep pits and grooves in their teeth. Their diet may be low in carbohydrates and sugars that are needed for cavity formation.
