The Manacapuru Red Back Angelfish is one of the most stunning wild-type angelfish in the aquarium hobby. Native to the Amazon region near Manacapuru, Brazil, these elegant fish are admired for their shimmering silver bodies, bold black vertical bands, and the striking red-orange coloration that develops across their back and shoulders as they mature.
✨ Care Tips:
• Temperature: 25–28°C (77–82°F)
• pH: 6.0–7.0 (soft, slightly acidic water is ideal)
• Minimum tank size: 55 gallons (200L) with plenty of height
• Diet: High-quality pellets, flakes, and frozen/live foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia for vibrant color.
• Temperament: Peaceful but can become territorial during breeding. Best kept with other calm community fish of similar size.
