Watching your child struggle is one of the hardest parts of being a parent. Every fiber of your being wants to jump in, fix the problem, and take away that frustration. But here is a gentle reminder: when we rescue them too quickly, we accidentally take away their chance to grow.

Think of it as strengthening their "I can do hard things" muscle. Just like a real muscle, it only gets stronger when it faces a bit of resistance. When they are sitting in that space of struggle—whether it’s tieing a shoe, solving a math problem, or navigating a friendship—they are actually learning how to trust themselves.

By stepping back, you aren’t being hands-off; you’re being hands-on with their confidence. You are quietly telling them, "I believe in you enough to let you figure this out."So today, let’s try to hold the space for them. Be the cheering section, not the rescue squad. Let them feel the pride of saying, "I did it myself!"
