Completed car 09/22/2014

After almost 2 years it is finally complete. It was a very interesting and challenging process. I am glad to have had the experience, but I doubt that I will do another one.

Engine 09/19/2014

Original engine was strong and ran well, but needed tuning and minor repair work. Rebuilt carbs, installed new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and resurfaced flywheel. Replaced bad valve guide seals and adjusted valves.

The car was stripped down with the removal of the interior, carpet, undercoating, engine, transmission and suspension to determine the amount of rust and corrosion present. The inspection indicated much more rust and corrosion than was expected. It was turning out to be a much larger job that I anticipated. Most of the bottom of the car was in need of replacement. At an earlier date, I would guess in the early 70's, some of the floor and the longitudinals was replaced along with metal work on parts of the body. Parts of the door bottoms were also replaced.
