Last month, South Carolina received $48 million from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to help individuals and families pay their home heating costs this winter and cooling bills next summer. I encourage all who qualify to apply for assistance.

Individuals interested in applying for LIHEAP can visit energyhelp.us or call the National Energy Assistance Referral (NEAR) hotline toll-free at: 1-866-674-6327.

Not sure whether you qualify? Households can easily identify if they may be eligible for assistance by using the LIHEAP Eligibility Tool on energyhelp.us. My district office also stands ready to assist and can be reached at 803-799-1100.
