It was like a kid in a candy store.” That’s how David Cupp describes walking onto the STI International build floor for the first time in 1994. Thirty years on the build floor later and he’s still the guy everyone comes to when they want it done right. ✅

Why are you part of the Staccato family?

“A buddy called me in 1994 and told me there was a job opening at this little startup called STI International. I showed up, got the job, and just never left. I started out doing everything — stocking parts, handling customers, cleaning machines. Eventually I made my way onto the build floor and that’s where I found my home. It was like a kid in a candy store.”

Q: Which Staccatos do you own?

“My favorite gun of all time is probably either the DVC 3 Gun or the STI Open, which was always one of my favorites. I own too many to count but the C4X and the HD P 4.5 are awesome. They’ve made a lot of good improvements, and I think they’re still making improvements to the gun. It’s ever evolving.”

Q: What does this brand mean to you personally? Tell us one unique story.

“It means what STI evolved into over a long period of time and it was bound to happen. It was a dream really. When I started, we were basically a hole in the wall. It took new ownership to come in with the money to back it up — as we say in Texas, back up the bu****it — and get the job done. And we did.” 🇺🇸

Q: What do you want customers to know about Staccato?

“Best customer service in the country, bar none, without a doubt… Especially since they opened the Ranch, it feels more like a family oriented business than it ever was.” 🇺🇸
