The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program is a financial resource for families with students who lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to COVID-19. P-EBT provides households with an EBT card with funds to spend on food at home for students.
ELIGIBILITY
All students are eligible who had free or reduced-price lunch in our district. This includes all students at Community Eligible Provision (CEP).
PARTICIPATION
1. Automatic participation from SNAP benefit: Currently enrolled students who are receiving SNAP benefits on an active EBT card automatically will receive additional funds for P-EBT on their card. The guardian and/or parent does not need to do anything.
2. Automatic participation from other Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) income-eligible program benefits: Currently enrolled students who are receiving Medicaid or KTAP benefits based on income levels below the NSLP income guidelines, or who are in foster care, will automatically receive a P-EBT card in the mail with instructions. The guardian and/or parent does not need to do anything.
3. Elective participation: Students who do not qualify based on automatic participation, or who are unsure and are eligible to receive a free or reduced-price lunch, should complete a simple online P-EBT application: https://benefind.ky.gov/. Student name, address, date of birth and Statewide Student Identification (SSID) are required.
Applications open for 30 days beginning June

*** Update 3/31/20 ***
The food stops currently being utilized to provide food for our students will have additional meals on Thursday (April 2nd) and Friday (April 3rd). We will provide additional meals on these days in effort to meet the nutritional needs of our students over Boone County Schools’ spring break.
Please continue to call your school’s food manager to reserve your daily meal so we can provide the accurate amount of meals at each stop. Boone County Schools will NOT transport food to the community during the week of spring break, (April 6th-10th). Additional meals will be provided on Thursday and Friday in effort to support food needs during our spring break.
Boone County School buses will deliver food to our school community only one time each day. This will occur at the 11:30 lunchtime food service we are currently providing.
The food provided at 11:30 will include both a breakfast and lunch serving. All food stop locations currently being used will still be utilized.
Our ongoing food service is for ALL students of Boone County Schools.
We ask that families call ahead to help us know how many meals to prepare for each location. Our buses will be delivering food to the locations listed on the links below. Phone numbers to call and reserve a meal are also available via the links.
