The three babies continue to hang out and improve their hunting skills
I have found that they will still accept an occasional mouse
I simply place mice on a patch of bare gravel and they come investigate
They watch everything going on and once I leave they come in and grab them
I don’t have many mice left but I figure it won’t be long till they vacate the area too
I’d say the supplementing has definitely given them a boost in survival odds
It’s been a rewarding experience

Clip #2 of the little males first flight.i watched him hop and flutter around the house for several days, obviously strengthening his legs and wings till he felt comfortable taking wing. His little sister bided him farewell at the last moment, she needed several more days to build her agility and wing muscles, four separate times i watched her flutter to the ground, not yet ready to take wing, four times i went out and placed her back in the nestbox where she hung out alone prepping for her first flight,

Finally! Heres the video of the little male and his first flight, ill post another camera angle next
He flew into the blue spruce in front of the shed where i believe his sister went earlier, the adults were constantly in view watching over, I’m hoping the best for them but their well being is now under their control
