📢 New FinCEN Real Estate Reporting Rule Now in Effect
As of today, March 2, 2026, certain residential real estate transactions are subject to new federal reporting requirements under the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
This rule generally applies to:
• Residential property (1–4 family homes, condos, townhomes, residential land)
• Purchases made by an LLC, corporation, partnership, or trust
• Non-financed transactions (cash, private funds, seller financing)
• Closings occurring on or after March 1, 2026
When applicable, beneficial ownership and transaction details must be reported to FinCEN.
If you are purchasing residential property through an entity or trust — especially without traditional bank financing — this may affect your transaction.
Our office is fully prepared to comply with the new requirements and answer any questions you may have.
