general contractor of the Sleeping Bear Inn team, George MacEachern at the 2026 Michigan Historic Preservation Network Award Ceremony last week! Our project won thr Michigan Historic Preservation Building Award- the highest honor bestowed for the restoration of thr Sleeping Bear Inn in Glen Haven, Michigan! Now (mostly) retired, Sleeping Bear Inn is a legacy project for George as he wound down his career with this monumental historic adaptive reuse project. Truly one of the greatest builders in Michigan, George poured his heart and soul into every inch of Sleeping Bear Inn and without his expertise, skill and sacrifice, we wonder if the Inn would still be sleeping!
