Factory Two

Naomi Villaranda is one of Factory Two's original members. She started out mostly working in sewing, but over time began to tackle other program areas. She now makes belt pouches like this one that combine InkScape (for design), the laser (for cutting out and burnishing leaves), sewing (for assembly), and of course leatherworking for the overall fabrication. Tweens and teens in your life? This Saturday they can kick it with actual players from the Flint City Bucks and Flint City AFC for free! This soccer camp combines the beautiful game with STEM learning, with lunch thrown in to boot. Camp will take place at Factory Two, right next to the Bucks' home turf at Atwood Stadium. We love when people come to Flint's community makerspace, but we like bringing the makerspace to you as well! Last Saturday Jimmy, Barb, John and Jenn did a pop-up at the Flint Farmers' Market. Dozens of folks of all ages came by to make Factory Two tote bags, Flint buttons, and their own turned wooden bowls on the lathe! Making Saturdays Awesome is our youth STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) program.
