He was born and raised in Fenton, Michigan. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He subsequently attended Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University where he graduated with honors in 1986. In 1987, Robert attended New York University, the preeminent legal tax program in the country, where he received a masters in law (LLM). He also authored a

This summer, we’re teaming up with UM-Flint occupational therapy student, MiCayla Sandlin, to offer something special just for you.
Join us for Healing Michigan’s Heroes: a series of four, 1-hour sessions focused on managing day-to-day mental health challenges while building lasting connections with fellow frontline heroes.
📍 Delta College Main Campus
🗓️ Wednesdays: May 28th, June 11th, June 25th, and July 9th
🕠 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Each session includes:
✅ Guided mental wellness activities
