er, Ron Brooks and the Flint Symphony Orchestra. In New York, he played and recorded with Phil Woods, David Liebman, Danilo Perez, Bob Dorough and his own band "Zambomba". In Spain and Portugal, he played with Jorge Pardo, Miguel Chastang, and Maria Viana. Holen taught briefly in the Flint public schools and was on the faculty at the Hot Club jazz academy in Lisbon, Portugal. He has given numerous master classes and concerts in Argentina, the Azores Islands, Italy, Morocco, Central Michigan University and others. He is currently playing with the Flamenco/Jazz band "New Bojaira" and preparing to record a new album of his big band arrangements. Mark Holen continues to write music, play with various bands from around the world and follow that path wherever it takes him.
