The first planted corn is now 10-12 ft tall, is coming into tassel and setting ears and most have 2, really need rain would be ok with 1 inch but no hail, have about 30 acres like this and the other 25 are not far behing and then the last 5 is trying to catch up. Oh the weeds are dying and the spray is working!!!!!! TTFN

Took some time off, went to beach!!! Sprayed the johnson grass in many of the fields by hand and most is dying. Have to be careful what type of corn to plant where so I can spray roundup on the heavy infested fields. Also sprayed for the burr cucumber and field bindweed and think that they are under control. Will walk and had spray some other fields next week but we need rain, most corn is chest to head high. also cultivated the sweet corn patch today not the best looking but not the worst either. TTFN

finished spraying the last 8 acres and will try to spray the 6 acres of field bindweed tomorrow with atrazine and dicamba, these are broadleaf herbicides and will not kill the corn which is a grass. Will order planter parts monday and see if I can finish the last 5 acre piece by end of May. Sweet corn not germinated need rain desperately. TTFN
