You know the sad truth behind my ambition?

I get my self worth from how much I achieve.

Because being a smart kid means you’re praised for being smart and high achieving.

You get used to the attention.

The being treated like you’re special and have potential.

You always have to outdo yourself.

Or you go back to being basic.

You risk the chance of losing love.

Recently I asked myself-

Why.

Seriously.

Why?

Why is it always pushing it to the limit?

Why am I always delaying graitification until I’ve passed some ridiculous goal?

Is it possible..

That I’m enough now?

Even if I don’t ever live up to the “potential.”

The things don’t mean anything.

The goals are literally just side effects of you accepting your current genius and worthiness RIGHT NOW.

And sure they’ll be nice.

But they’ll never be nice with Performer Attitude.

Because you’ll just feel like you do right now.

Like, “sure, you did okay, but you can still do so much better. You can still accomplish so much more.”

Are people who don’t accomplish things worth less?

Are you worth less when you’re not constantly dissatisfied and reaching for the next?
