This morning, Southeastern Schools hosted its annual SRO Breakfast to thank our School Resource Officers for their dedication to keeping our schools safe.

This year also marked the first time an officer was recognized as HSE’s SRO of the Year. We are proud to congratulate Officer Clausius on receiving this honor.

Several SROs were nominated, but Officer Clausius stood out to the committee for his ability to connect with students, his willingness to go the extra mile in the classroom, and the positive attitude he brings to work every day.

Today, our Honor Guard had the privilege of presenting the colors at our city’s Memorial Day tribute, honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the freedoms they secured for us all.

Never forget.

I started my day at the Prayer Breakfast supporting our County Chaplains. I was honored to attend at the invitation of my friend, Alaina Shonkwiler.

Our chaplains play a vital role in both our department and our community. They provide support, guidance, and compassion during some of the most difficult moments our officers and residents face.

Quite simply, we could not do this job without them.
