This is what happens when the kids skip egg duty for a few days... and we decide to give the hens a chance at motherhood!

We tucked all the eggs into three nest boxes, and sure enough—three broody hens later, we’ve got chicks starting to hatch! We found the first little fluffball this evening, and the hens are being very mama hen about the whole thing. We think we’ve got three so far, but they’re not exactly letting us peek.
