We celebrated the opening of Friendship House Cottages, marking the next phase of our Friendship House Fayetteville program, with a ribbon cutting alongside partners and community members. ServiceSource Chief Program Officer Andy Rind and Employment Source Executive Director Jason Amorose joined supporters to recognize this important milestone. Friendship House provides affordable, integrated housing for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who build social and independent living skills while sharing apartments with college students or young professionals. Friendship House Cottages are the next step on the journey, where residents live more independently while refining those skills in a familiar environment.

The event included remarks by two of our first Friendship House residents, Michael Brown and Marina Howell, who are moving into the Cottages. Michael and Marina spoke about the transformative power of the program, explaining how it has helped them build social and practical skills for their next chapter in life.

Many thanks to the partners, donors, and community members who helped bring this project to life including ServiceSource Board Member Weyher Dawson; our general contractor Ben Stout Construction; Reverend Chip Stapleton of Highland Presbyterian Church; Friendship House Chaplain Reverend Dr. Scott Cameron; Dr. Franklin Clark; the McClimon and Cameron Families; and the late Connie Bubon.
