Native Plant Landscape Design

We love native viburnums, as you can tell my Mr. Gutierrez’s expression. ☺️ This Viburnum nudum is thriving in a project in Lorton and we are thrilled about it. 🐝🐦‍⬛

Serviceberry harvest season! They are delicious if you haven’t tried them yet. Serviceberry trees provide food for over 40 bird species, offer early-Spring nectar for pollinators and support dozens of butterflies and moths species. On top, they are beautiful understory trees that can be used as a specimen tree or to create a vertical, not too dense, element in your planting design. We LOVE them.

When space is limited, vertical planting is the way to go. We recently mounted a wire trellis system on an existing fence and planted coral honeysuckle, which is a hummingbird magnet, and blue wood sedge as the base. designed by Mollie and photographed by Mr. M Emilio!
