California artists don’t need to travel far to engulf themselves in Mexico’s unique culture and beautiful countryside. These talented artists captured the spirit of Mexico in the form of art. Please enjoy our new collection of California paintings of Mexico.

Featured art: San Carlos Bay, c. 1950s by Frederic Whitaker, watercolor on paper, 22 x 26 inches.

Exhibited: California Heritage Museum, Pasadena Museum of California Art in Long Beach, Fallbrook Art Center.

Newly acquired California art by renowned Disney artist Hardie Gramatky. Gramatky worked at Disney when it was still an upstart company. From 1931 - 1936 he worked on Disney shorts featuring Mickey & friends. He later became an illustrator for premier magazines such as Fortune, Collier's, Woman's Day, True, American, and Reader's Digest. However, he may be best known for his children's book series Little Toot.
