🌿 **Expect Improvements Beyond Pain**

Most people come to Bowen because something hurts.
But pain is only *one* way your nervous system communicates.

Bowen works at a deeper level — helping your body shift out of protection and into regulation.
And when that happens, the earliest changes often show up in places you wouldn’t expect.

Here are the improvements to look for after a session:

• Deeper sleep
• Feeling calmer
• Easier breathing
• Less jaw/neck/belly tension
• Better digestion
• Fewer headaches
• More mobility
• More energy
• Faster recovery
• Less overwhelm
• Clearer thinking
• Feeling “more like yourself”

These shifts matter.
They’re signs your **nervous system is reorganizing**, even before pain fully resolves.

Bowen doesn’t just chase symptoms — it helps your whole system unwind, reset, and function better.
So yes, expect pain to change…
But also expect **so much more**.

"I was hospitalized for three days with severe back pain and difficulty walking. An MRI showed a bulging disc, but otherwise nothing significant. Even after being discharged, I was still in extreme pain, so I scheduled an appointment with Emily about a week later.
Within ONE hour of treatment, I was able to walk again—completely pain-free. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it is 100% true. I left the appointment in tears, overwhelmed with gratitude and relief.
I’ll continue with maintenance treatments as I fully heal, but the results from just one visit were incredible. I am beyond thankful for Emily and her expertise. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone and everyone."

I’ve felt a growing pull toward early‑intervention work, especially after learning how adaptable the brain is in early childhood. In a neuroplasticity course, we learned that the brain has certain developmental windows — and after those points, it becomes much harder to change patterns or build new pathways. Realizing that made me want to support kids while their nervous systems are still so open to change, especially those who might benefit from Bowen therapy in their early years.

Bowen therapy is non‑forceful and works directly with the nervous system. It often supports kids who experience sensory overload, tension patterns, difficulty relaxing, or challenges with regulation. Even small shifts in nervous‑system ease can support their development in meaningful ways.

If you know of any early‑intervention programs, centers, or professionals who welcome volunteers, I’d be grateful for a connection.

Client Review 🎸
Here’s what one client shared about their experience with Bowen:

“‘Godsend’ would be the first word that comes to mind when I tell people about my experience with Emily's Bowen treatments. When I arrived at Emily's door, it was through a gift certificate my friend gave me, who knew that I was having a hard time dealing with a very bad shoulder injury that was so painful, I could barely move my arm. For one year I lived in major pain and had little use of my arm, and I am not a good candidate for shoulder surgery. So I began seeing Emily for treatment and it was remarkable how after two treatments, I not only felt pain relief but I began being able to move my arm again. I went every 2–3 weeks for a couple of months, and I regained full movement of my arm and shoulder; and almost completely out of pain. Emily's healing method gave me my life and my work back. I am an instrumentalist and I could barely play the guitar before I saw Emily. Now, I can play it again with confidence, movement and ease. I cannot recommend Emily highly enough. Way beyond 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Jennifer M.
