Established and expanding investment management and financial planning firm has an opening for a technical support person. The position will provide in depth experience in complex, high-net-worth financial planning, multi-family office services, and institutional and retail portfolio management.

Qualified candidates will be process and detail oriented, flexible, and interested in learning both job skills and academic underpinnings to financial planning and investment management. They must possess very strong Excel skills, analytical and quantitative aptitude and a comfort with data base management. Working knowledge of Outlook required.

This position offers a rare opportunity to learn the mechanics, theory and practice details of the financial planning and investment advisory industry along with valuable experience in a variety of aspects of financial planning and investment management.

Assuming applicant demonstrates aptitude, intelligence, detail orientation, a strong work ethic and a focus on client service, additional responsibilities for client interaction may gradually be transitioned to this role.

The position offers the opportunity for the following vocational education and job skills:

Investment Portfolio Management

Individual Investment Review
• Apply portfolio models to client portfolios
• Analysis of existing investments based on a variety of investment performance metrics, to include historical performance, risk management, manager skill, style consistency, internal expenses, etc.
• Asset allocation analysis and rebalancing
• Pinpoint areas of strength and weakness in existing asset allocations

Portfolio Management
• Portfolio rebalancing
• Analysis of tax implications
• Asset location
• Tax loss harvesting

Quarterly and Annual Performance Reporting
• Portfolio benchmarking
• Risk/return analysis
• Manager performance
• Performance vs client goals
• Integration of portfolio performance with clients’ long-range financial planning.

Financial Planning
• Involvement with Financial Plan design:
o construction and monitoring including retirement projections, cash flow projections, retirement planning, and income planning.
o Business planning, including buy-sell planning and qualified plan design
o Detailed and sophisticated estate plan review and design
o Generation of estate planning proposals and reviews

Insurance Strategies
• Review of existing life and long-term care insurance policies
• Analysis of existing policies and comparison to available products
• Generating needs analysis for life and long-term care insurance
• Design and maintenance of complex insurance solutions.

Administrative Support – Details and Responsibilities

This is a part time position – flexible hours and compensation to be negotiated. There is no relocation package. The position requires attendance at the office location.
