in Fairburn GA by three members of Free Spirit Ministries, Pastor Dale Foster, Dedrick Riley, and Antoine Roberson. All three had a common belief that many youth in their community lacked meaningful academic, career guidance, social and life skills. Determined to make a difference,Foster, Riley and Roberson convened a series of community meetings, attended by more than 30 community leaders and concerned parents. With initial financial commitments from community members and local businesses, Foster, Riley, and Roberson founded Iron Sharpens Iron, which operates under FSMCDC (Free Spirit Ministries Community Development Corporation, Inc.) Since opening its
doors, Iron Sharpens Iron mentoring program has forged strong partnerships with the local business community, media, school districts, and other youth–serving organizations in the community.
