Friendly reminder: your lawnmower engine is (more than likely) air cooled. There is a fan on top that blows air down around the engine to keep it cool.

This system cannot work if underneath your shrouds are filled with leaves, dirt, oil, etc.

Power washing your engine can prevent this. Shrouds may have to be removed.

This engine had to come off its mower anyway, so of course we’re going to clean it before it goes back to the customer.

This was already stripped of the shrouds so it was worse about 30 minutes ago. The fins in the engine act to increase surface area to help it cool easier. Does not work if the fins are clogged
