his foreign studies in the medieval German town of Landschute, Jon Monson developed an appreciation for architecture rich in textures, compatible with existing surroundings, and with an integration of architect and builder according to the old master builder practice. Jon and his wife Mary have also been influenced camps of the Adirondacks and the cottages of Nantucket, where simple architectural forms are often the most welcoming, characterful, and timeless of all. Jon is one of the small handful of architects who have chosen to go beyond just drawing and talking to actually executing the design and personally molding the vision into reality. You don’t commission any other work of art to be designed by one person and then painted by another; you want the artist to be responsible for every stroke of the brush.
