I come to you with a few scattered show announcements, with many more still in the wings.

I’m excited to share a rescheduled date for the St. Paul, MN show. I’ll be at Turf Club on Friday, Sept. 11th.

Later that month, I’ll be at Sisters Folk Festival in Sisters, Oregon (Sept. 25-27th).

And to kick off summer, I’ll be playing the inaugural Zephyr Folk Festival in Liberty Lake, WA (near Spokane) on June 5th.

A Deluxe Edition of I Hope We Can Still Be Friends is out today. 2 tracks from the recording session that were not included on the original release, The Rapture and My Mistake, are now streaming🐟🐠🐡

Even though it didn’t make it on the record, The Rapture is the biggest inspiration for the album’s title. I hope you find this big, dumb, antagonistic, unsubtle song a nice pairing with the Trump administration, to whom I dedicate it. It’s a comedy making fun of people who might be dangerous to make fun of. I hope that you have a laugh and we can still be friends. If not, I take comfort in this song keeping us apart.

My Mistake has a distinctly haunting combination of melody and chord progression with depressing lyrics. Basically, it’s about eternally standing on the sidelines and avoiding conflict and challenges and everything that gives you true learning experience. Quite sad… but also really quite fun if you listen to the wonderful slide and baritone guitar playing by Sam Peterson, who also played Hammond organ on it. There is lovely harmony singing by its producer and drummer, Sera Cahoone. Abbey Blackwell treats the song beautifully with the upright bass. It’s the same players on The Rapture along with some beautiful pedal steel by Jon Hyde, Sam just playing Hammond.
