ReFusionShaka is Northwestern’s biggest annual dance/drumming show that featuring 3 of NU’s dance groups. Every fall quarter, ReFresh Dance Crew, Fusion Dance Company and Boomshaka collaborate to put on performances that showcase the three groups and many different styles of dance. We’ve hosted the show all over campus, from Tech’s Ryan Auditorium and Norris’s McCormick Auditorium, to even Cahn Auditorium for the first time in 2015.

It’s come to our attention that some of our audience members were shouting profanities and racial slurs during the show last night. We want people to know that this behavior at any show is unacceptable. We are first and foremost a community of dancers that always strives to make everyone feel safe, loved and included. Any behavior that goes against this will not be tolerated. Our performances aim to bring people together on this campus and insensitive behavior disregards and alienates both audience members and performers. We expect respectful participation from the entire audience and will continue working to do the same on our side.
