Apply for a Community Renewable Energy Project (CREP) Grant Today
From now until May 10, 2024, Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) is accepting applications for renewable energy grants. ODOE is committed to the planning and construction of renewable energy or energy resilience projects that power Oregon, making $18 million available.

Who Can Apply?
In addition to Oregon Tribes and consumer-owned utilities, The Community Renewable Energy Grant Program is open to public bodies which includes counties, municipalities, and special government bodies such as ports and irrigation districts.
This is a competitive grant, and priority will be given to projects that support program equity goals, demonstrate community energy resilience, and include energy efficiency and demand response.
At least half of the grant funds will go to projects that serve environmental justice communities (non-profits) including communities of color, lower-income development and rural communities, among other eligible projects.
Grant money is available for 4 types of projects that work to power Oregon:
1. Planning a renewable energy project ($100,000 Max Award).
2. Planning a renewable energy project that includes a resilience component ($100,000 Max Award).
3. Construction of a renewable energy project ($1,000,000 Max Award).
4. Construction of a renewable energy project that includes a resilience component ($1,000,000 Max Award).

Another round of grant funding is expected to be announced for applications due this Fall, 2024, but it’s never too early to start planning!
