In CA: Undocumented immigrants join 2.7 Californians in getting unemployment aid 05/21/2020

Marie Waldron wants us to support "That is why I have joined with California's bipartisan legislative leadership and a coalition of leaders from western states, to formally request $1 trillion in federal aid to assist state and local governments. This is when we need the federal government the most. We need to protect and fund critical public health care, education, and public safety services."

NO WAY Marie look how you have spent our money.

#2 The state, together with philanthropists, plans to provide $125 million to undocumented immigrants to help them weather a near-collapse of the economy, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday.

California’s roughly 150,000 undocumented workers can expect to receive $500, or up to $1,000 per household, and can begin applying next month. “This is a state that steps up always to support those in need, regardless of status,” Newsom said during his daily midday briefing.

The group isn't eligible for relief under the federal stimulus bill, which is providing up to $1,200 per individual or $2,400 per couple, plus $500 for dependents under the age of 17.

#1 Sham on our state leaders

We have heard a troubling rumor from a friend about California state workers getting "comp time" for going to work, as Newsom/Pelosi claim the need for bailouts for COVID-19 caused budget deficits. Unfortunately, We have found evidence that the rumor is true! This is wrong! State workers should feel lucky to still have a paying job. Instead, it is a hardship to merely get paid to work. No wonder the Governor and the Courts want the lockdown to continue indefinitely. Free money!! "Court management brought to our attention a request to allow represented exempt positions to be paid Holiday pay per Article 15 of our MOU, should they be part of a working skeleton crew like non-exempt members are currently getting paid.
The reason is if exempt employees continue to earn Admin Leave, when normal operations resume it would be a challenge to allow them time off while meeting the mission of the Courts system.
Member leaders and stewards agreed to this change with management agreeing to our request of making these hours retroactive to the beginning when the Courts operated with skeleton crews back in mid-March. These exempt employees/members should be seeing that Holiday pay soon if not already in their paychecks."

Palomar Medical Center Downtown Escondido is still open for business! The north side has patients, nurses, light, etc. It appears the entire central tower (built in 1986) is empty. The south extension (built in 1988) is blocked off and mostly dark. I would estimate there are over 200 empty rooms. No need to put patients in dorms and tents yet. Turn on the lights and use this hospital.
