Having a cottage bakery has allowed me the freedom to truly showcase my work, and create amazing experiences for my clients. I do a LOT of research for my clients when I prepare a proposal and I regularly check little details so that each order is a purely custom experience. I take pride in my work, from a superior tasting cookie, to intricate artwork, to gorgeous packaging; when you get cookies from Sweet Cheeks Homestead, they stand out and taste delicious. My little bakery has given me so much joy and I want each client to experience the same feeling. Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to live on a farm. My grandmother grew up in Kansas during the Great Depression. She told me stories of farming and what it was like for their family living on a homestead. Later they moved to a farm in California and grew apples. Each year, we would drive by the farm they used to own, and my grandmother and mom would point out where they played and enjoyed each other’s company. I wanted that exact same thing for my family. We moved to Sweet Cheeks Homestead, in North San Diego County, in 2013. We grow organic produce: blackberries, tangerines, oranges, lemons, pomegranates, persimmons [when the squirrels do not steal them first], and all the veggies you can imagine.
