Our final Senior Spotlight for 2026 is Claire Simmons. Claire has been a part of GVS for almost three years. Her passion for the arts shines through her 8 years in choir, 10 years of dance, and an amazing 14 years in theatre! Along the way, she earned recognition as an All State Jazz musician, a two-time All State Choir member, and an Outstanding Soloist at both Greeley Jazz and CHSAA. She also starred in two leading roles at Erie High her senior year- Jo in Little Women, and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Claire shares, “Singing is a way for me to feel and share emotions and thoughts you can’t always get through to people by just talking. Especially when I sing with others, it’s a way for me to connect with people I value and care about while doing something special to me.” She also encourages younger singers to never give up: “There is no such thing as ‘good enough’ — you can only be the best you are now, and I promise you will improve. You will learn how to belt that stupid high note, I promise. It just takes time and effort!”
This fall, Claire will attend the University of Utah to study Elementary Education. I am so proud of you, Claire, and can’t wait to see all the lives you’ll inspire in the future! Keep Singing!
Last lesson of the school year taught tonight, and I am reflecting on another terrific year in the studio. Have a great start to your summer, Everyone!
