Yesterday vs. today. Gray vs. colorful.

This week, a team from Fifth Reformed Church is serving in Yucatán, México 🇲🇽. As Pastor Jon shared with Pastor Eduardo’s congregation in Uayma, “This is a special group of intergenerational members who have come to serve on behalf of Fifth Reformed this week.”

Yucatán is rich in beauty—not only in its landscapes, but especially in its people. Recognizing that every person is created in the image of God and is His handiwork (Ephesians 2:10), our team is investing in local congregations and communities through practical acts of service. One example is the colorful flower pots pictured below, painted by team members and gifted to the churches we are serving.

The youth on this trip have been working hard each day, helping with projects, painting, and serving alongside local believers. But ministry has extended beyond the work itself. Through soccer, conversations, laughter, and language exchange, meaningful friendships are being formed between Michiganders and Yucatecos.

Psalm 133 reminds us, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” This week has been a beautiful picture of that unity—different generations, cultures, and languages coming together as one family in Christ.

Thank you for praying for the team and the churches we are serving. Please continue to pray that the relationships being built this week would bear lasting fruit and bring glory to God.
