Knok's wild concept was born from David Peterson and Beau Chevassus, two creative professionals who met while volunteering on a hospital ship in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Their job was to document and market, through photo and video, the work of this hospital ship. The two friends realized the phenomenal importance of charities communicating their work (especially to donors), but found a deep void in the industry; and those studios that did provide quality media services for nonprofits charged $20K per short film! Years later, Chevassus officially spearheaded Knok Studio, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, while Peterson applied his creative skills as a full-time employee with the hospital ship's organization. Currently Knok serves the entire USA and beyond and has a pool of creative minds that rival the best in the industry. We have the talent, the drive, and the passion, but as you may well know studio work isn't without its financial burdens, which reminds us why charities can't afford broadcasting their message in the first place.
