🚨Hazardville Water Rate Hike Public Input Needed 🚨

Hazardville Water is asking PURA (the state utility regulator) to approve a 65% rate increase.

There are public hearings scheduled, but if you can’t attend, you can still submit comments directly to PURA so your voice is heard:

Whether you support or oppose the rate increase, it’s important that local residents participate — PURA does take written comments into account.

This shouldn’t even be controversial.

The most densely populated part of Enfield, Thompsonville, still doesn’t have its own polling place.

In both the 2021 and 2023 municipal elections, District 2 (which includes Thompsonville) had roughly 40% FEWER voters than the other districts:

I spoke with one of Enfield’s Registrars of Voters while early voting, and it was honestly concerning how unwilling they were to acknowledge this turnout gap.

If we want higher turnout, it’s not complicated; put a polling place where the people actually live.

Thompsonville deserves one. Period.
