nsient construction worker that worked around the country, Ms. Mer was able to instill in her 4 daughters and her baby boy a great work ethic and compassion for their community, and they affectively pushed Dew Drop Inn to thrive in its hay day of the 70’s and 80’s. A deeply religious and sympathetic woman, Mrs. Jackson never turned down a hungry soul. And if you couldn’t pay today, she would tell you to “bring it back when you get it”, providing credit to folks that needed to feed their families. With this business model, Ms. Mer was able to develop two additional businesses Reese Street Grocery and Washington Park Grocery. She managed these businesses until her retirement. Mer’s brand is not your typical brand, here, we don’t do it to make a ton of money, we do it to provide a great product, with great value, to great folks.
