Knowing your value as a creative 💭

As artists we often question our value, our pricing, how people perceive the “worth” of our art or services…

But there’s nothing more powerful than reflecting on what it actually take to do what we do: the knowledge; the climbs; the gear and training; the field experience; the unspoken nuances and creative vision of it all.

Even in creating my prints, I reminded myself of everything that went into that process:

• the idea & the planning
• the early alarms & long drives
• the big days of hiking and climbing
• the game of luck for weather & conditions
• the technical craft to capture it right
• the hours of editing & colour work
• the test prints & proofing until it’s perfect
• the choice of archival, museum-grade paper
• the printer I love and trust with the details
• the personal touch of signing & numbering

“If you want lower price, seek lower value” is a respectful way of saying “if you don’t see the value of my work, look elsewhere”. It took me a long time to learn that, and I’m still working on it.
