When the temps drop this low, here’s what can happen:

Frozen & Burst Pipes
Water lines in exterior walls, basements, crawl spaces, and garages are at the highest risk of freezing. As pressure builds, pipes can burst — leading to major water damage fast.

Ice Dams Forming on Roofs
Extended cold can cause snow to melt under the roof line and refreeze at the edges, trapping water and sending it back into your home through shingles or attic spaces.

Furnace Overload & Backup Heat Risks
When furnaces struggle to keep up, homeowners often turn to space heaters — which come with fire risks if used improperly.

Here’s what you can do to help protect your home tonight:

✔️ Keep cabinet doors open under kitchen/bath sinks
✔️ Let faucets drip — moving water is harder to freeze
✔️ Keep garage doors closed
✔️ Make sure heat is set no lower than 65°
✔️ Know where your main water shut-off valve is
✔️ Check that outdoor hoses are disconnected
