Hardin County Fair Board Member Spotlight: Marty Fulkerson

Today we are proud to spotlight our Hardin County Fair Board President, Marty Fulkerson.

Marty has served on the Hardin County Fair Board for 33 years. That is more than three decades of meetings, planning, problem-solving, late nights, early mornings, fair week decisions, and a whole lot of dedication to making the fair better every year.

When asked about his favorite fair event, Marty said Exceptional Guest Day.

That says a lot.

For Marty, the fair is about being able to provide a quality, affordable event for the community. It is about giving families a place to make memories. It is about keeping a great county tradition alive while always looking for ways to improve it.

His favorite fair food?

Dewster’s Ice Cream.

And honestly, that is a pretty solid answer.

Marty’s leadership reaches beyond Hardin County, too. He served as the 2025 President of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows, and now continues in the role of Past President for the association.

We want to thank Marty for his dedication, leadership, passion, and years of service to the Hardin County Fair. His commitment has helped shape the fair into what it is today, and his heart for the community continues to help make the Hardin County Fair the best it can be.
