It’s not that my mom wouldn't be proud of where I am today.

I know she would have worried.

She would have been upset when I quit my job two months after she died.

She was famous for saying, “The easiest way to get a job is to have one already.”

She was perplexed when I turned down an offer during a period when I didn't have much going on.

And I understand that she was a concerned mother that was doing her parental duty.

But she didn’t see what was brewing.

(Truthfully, neither did I!)

All I knew was that I had strong pulls that were leading me out of a cubicle and into the world.

I’m not going to say entrepreneurship is easy, but in the wake of grieving the loves of my life, it gave me a place to put this energy and make something from it.

I work for my clients, and I see them change their lives for the better in real time.

I no longer have to appear before a faceless entity and make some rich guy richer.

felt Write saved my life.

Even though Mom might have had reservations, she would have been my biggest cheerleader.

She is my biggest cheerleader; I hear her voice in my head, “C’mon, Emmy!” she gets to do that from the great beyond.

Felt Write turns five (one whole hand!) at the end of this month, and her spirit has been with me since day one of this adventure.
