h my Mother over to Aunt Jane’s. Aunt Jane taught Mother how to carefully take a large wool coat apart, lay a pattern down and cut out a child’s coat from it. That coat turned out to be beautiful black tweed with a very “happy” red braid trim, made just for me! Who knew that many years later (2006) “7SisterStudio” would be born in Anchorage Alaska! I began with recycling “unloved” wool sweaters into beautiful, warm, mittens. That has evolved into hats, headbands, boot cuffs, scarves, and fingerless gloves. A glass kiln made its way into my studio a few years later. And because of my love of everything beautiful and wanting to try every craft in the world, I started to dabble with glass and all it has to offer. One day while walking the beaches in Homer, and picking up interesting rock and sea glass, I had an inspiration - and my rock jewelry (Beach Bling) was born! Who knows what direction my artistry will take next? I’m just waiting for the right inspiration.
