As part of its ongoing safety programme and while lifting the standards of responsibility, APM Terminals Elizabeth, New Jersey, regularly hosts training exercises for first responders.

The terminal recently welcomed the Port Authority Police to practise complex and real-life drills such as crane rescues and high-angle medical emergencies. These drills aren't only about compliance - they’re about cultivating a proactive safety culture. They also reinforce the partnerships that help protect our people and community.

Transforming for the Future: APM Terminals Elizabeth Advances Modernization Efforts

As part of our ongoing commitment to operational efficiency and sustainability, APM Terminals Elizabeth successfully completed its first-ever controlled demolition of a legacy ship-to-shore crane on February 8th, 2025. This project represents a critical step in our $70 million terminal modernization initiative, paving the way for the next generation of port infrastructure.

Enhanced Efficiency – Expediting demolition timelines from 6–8 months to 10–11 weeks
Sustainability Focus – Up to 90% of the crane’s materials will be recycled and repurposed.
Strategic Growth – Introduction of six new Neo-Panamax STS cranes to support increasing cargo demands

We are proud to collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Port Authority of NY/NJ, O’Brien Specialist Crane Services, ILA, and ZPMC, to drive innovation and maintain our role as a leader in maritime logistics.

As part of our CSR initiatives, we are proud to support Cleveland Elementary School by equipping a full classroom with everything the students need to succeed.

Our support goes beyond the basics—we are investing in technology that empowers students to excel in robotics, coding, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Their dedication and hard work, alongside mentorship from our Senior Leadership and Management Team, have led them to win multiple prestigious awards!

But it doesn’t stop there! We are also nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit. Two years ago, we provided equipment to help students design and create custom t-shirts, coffee cups, and more—allowing them to raise funds for projects that receive little to no financial support. Now, when their school needs t-shirts for events, they make them in-house! This initiative not only teaches them about business but also fosters collaboration, creativity, and self-confidence.
