🏑 What is really happening in the LA County housing market?

May is usually one of the busiest months for real estate, but this year looked a little different.

New listings dropped to about 6,500, and only 2,900 homes went into escrow. That is closer to what we normally see during the slower holiday months. Higher interest rates and ongoing economic uncertainty are making both buyers and sellers a bit more cautious.

The interesting part is that home prices are still holding strong. The median home price in LA County is currently $942,000.

So while the pace of the market has slowed, it has not stopped. Buyers may be seeing a bit less competition, while sellers are still benefiting from solid pricing.

Every market has opportunity. It just depends on how you approach it.

🏑 New listings dropped to 415 at the end of May, a noticeable decline during what is typically one of the busiest times of the year for new inventory. In fact, inventory saw a significant drop from April to May.

πŸ’° Despite fewer homes hitting the market and buyers taking a more cautious approach amid economic uncertainty and interest rate concerns, home values remain resilient. The median sales price in the South Bay is still holding strong at just over $1.15 million.
