One of our former research assistants, Aaron Sweeney, passed away earlier this week. Aaron was a UTEP student, veteran, and former PsiChi president. He was in the AD&D lab in the summer of 2021. Although he was only in the lab a short time, his bright personality quickly made him stand out. He was hard-working, friendly, fun to be around, and considerate to his fellow team members. He always was quick to help out another RA in need - that was just his way. We stayed in contact over the years and I’m grateful to have had a chance to know him, as he made quite an impact on me and all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed and my heart goes out to all those who cared for him as they grieve. A celebration of life memorial will be held this evening in his honor. Please see the details below:

✨ I’m so proud of my doctoral student, Claudia Cota, for an incredible thesis defense yesterday! She passed with flying colors and impressed her committee. Her ambitious and well-executed study experimentally manipulates stress to examine links between stress and suggestibility using self-report and physiological measures of stress. ✨
